ACTYBIO CMK40 WB
Preservative
ACTYBIO CMK40 WB is a preservative with a broad spectrum of action, formulated for the preservation of concrete additives, machining fluids, textile and leather auxiliaries, thickeners, adhesives (including protein-based formulations) and glues, aqueous and formulation coating disinfectants.
Composition
Preservative based on 4-chloro-3-methylphenol (PCMC/CMK).
Mechanism of action:
PCMC / CMK alters the structure of the microorganism’s cell wall, which causes the loss of cell integrity. With this, the biocide molecule accesses and disrupts the membrane cytoplasmic, causing leakage of essential components of the cell, leading to its disintegration.
Application
ACTYBIO CMK40 WB is a solution of p-chloro-m-cresol (PCMC/CMK NA). This active ingredient has a broad balanced spectrum of activity that encompasses gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, mould and yeast.
It is particularly effective against putrefactive bacteria and therefore suitable for use in products that are difficult to preserve (e.g. protein-based formulations).
ACTYBIO CMK40 WB is miscible with water-based products due to its carrier. Its excellent thermal and chemical stability means that it can be incorporated into the materials that require preservation at different stages of production process.
