Micro-organisms, such as fungus and bacteria can quickly adapt to a wide range of extreme environments and when conditions are optimal, multiply extremely quickly. Contamination occurs in the majority of cases from the environmental exposure or from an existing contaminated substrate or product. All paints and coatings can be susceptible to microbiological contamination and therefore require some form of in-can preservative to provide protection during the manufacturing and storage processes and an extended protection to the final film after the product has been applied.
ATC BIOCIDES have a long list of suitable products with different molecules, or mixtures of molecules, to offer preservation of the manufacturing process, the wet storage “in-can” stage and protection of the final film.
